DJ APPLICATION

DJ APPLICATION PROCESS

College of the Desert students interested in having a show on KCOD are recommended to take RTV 007: Intro to Radio Production. All RTV 007 Intro to Radio Production students learn all about radio broadcasting, the various departments and jobs in radio, and produce several radio projects, including a radio special that they can use to pitch to KCOD to have a show on-air. Students can also take RTV 007A Intermediate Radio Production and RTV 007B Advanced Radio Production and produce a show while enrolled in these courses.

If you are a College of the Desert student and would like to apply to have a show on KCOD without taking RTV 007, please fill out the form below and the KCOD Team will connect with you to discuss your broadcast experience and show concept. If approved to have a show on KCOD, student deejays need to volunteer for 20 hours at KCOD prior to starting production on a new show to receive training and acclimate to the KCOD work environment.

KCOD also offers community-hosted programs with radio deejays and professionals that are not students. If you are a member of the Coachella Valley community with relevant broadcasting experience and are interested in having a program on KCOD, please email your resume, reel and information on the kind of programming you are interested in hosting to KCODinfo@mycod.us.
